Colegio Base's very own Spanish classes

After many years of teaching, I've heard the most interesting words and expressions coming out of my student's mouths and this year is no different. Here is a sample of some of the "unique" words my students come up with, thinking it shows some resemblance to the english language:
I borrow you the blackboard: te borro la pizarra
in special: en especial
pistolers: pistoleros
hipotech: hipoteca
The mens of Pac: Los hombres de Paco
suicidate: suicidar
I can tach: puedo tachar
camps: campos
aclarated: aclarado
grap: grapa
apunt: apuntar
I'm empan: estoy empanada
cordons: cordones
berengine: berengena
sustends: sustenta
It's a ditch: es un dicho
desconcentrate: desconcentrarse
Catch by David: cogida por David
You have reason: tienes razón

I hope to add many more throughout the year. Come to think of it, I'd rather not!!!!!

The Blueberry Muffin

Jane stared aimlessly at the kitchen table, wondering what her next move might be. Peter had arrived late from work and desperately wanted to get out and do something different for a change but Jane knew there was something to be done at home, but what?

Objective CAE!

I hope this blog provides those students willing and interested in passing the CAE exam an opportunity to practice the skills they have acquired over the many years at this school. The idea behind this post is to get students motivated in expressing themselves in English much more than what they already do at school.
